Job Details

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, fixtures, and related hospital equipment including lighting, power distribution, communications, and emergency systems.
• Diagnose malfunctioning systems, components, and wiring using appropriate testing devices to locate the cause of breakdowns and correct the problem.
• Perform preventive maintenance on switch gear, transformers, circuit breakers, panels, receptacles, and communication systems to ensure continuous and safe operation.
• Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, ensuring compliance with codes.
• Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures based on job specifications and hospital blueprints.
• Maintain accurate maintenance and service records in compliance with hospital and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with the Facilities and Plant Operations team to support system upgrades, renovations, and energy-efficiency initiatives.
• Assist with emergency power testing, generator operation, and uninterruptible power supply (UPS) maintenance to ensure critical systems remain operational.
• Respond promptly to service calls and emergency situations to minimize downtime and maintain hospital operations.
• Promote a culture of safety and environmental stewardship, following all hospital policies and OSHA safety regulations.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of experience working with commercial or industrial electrical systems, preferably in a large-scale or complex facility.
• Solid understanding of electrical theory, NEC standards, and relevant local building codes.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools, diagnostic instruments, and testing equipment.
• Basic computer skills for documentation and work-order management.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Journeyman Electrician License or equivalent state certification.
• Prior hospital or healthcare facility electrical experience.
