At Inland Deicing Services, our sole focuses are the safe, efficient, and professional delivery of deicing and anti-icing services to our airline carrier customers and the reclamation & recycling of spent deicing fluid to protect our environment! We are a Winter Operations company.

Mechanics play an important role ensuring proper performance, safety and reliability of our Deicer trucks, GRV trucks, Support vehicles and Ground service equipment.

• Accountable for local maintenance scheduling and performance to ensure equipment dependability;
• Perform all duties of a skilled maintenance technician following recognized procedures for such work, as required;
• Read and use maintenance manuals, illustrated parts catalogs, schematics, blueprints, drawings, and other related maintenance documents to complete work assignments;
• Troubleshoot electrical and hydraulic problems and resolve within an established timeframe;
• Maintain complete and accurate maintenance records and conduct scheduled and unscheduled inspections on equipment;

• High school diploma or equivalent;
• Must be at least 18 years old;
• Must be able to speak and hear efficiently;
• Basic to intermediate computer skills;
• Must have your own basic set of tools (sockets/wrenches) up to 1" in size and up to 1/2" drive;
• Effective time management and organizational skills to manipulate multiple tasks and conflicting deadlines at once;
• Knowledge of fluid types, diesel powered machines and tools including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance;
• Maintain and treat all information as confidential;
• Must be able to read, write, understand and carry out instructions in English;
• Must be able to verbally direct in English;
• Possess the tact to deal with all levels of employees and client representatives;
• Proven knowledge and use of standard and specialty tools and specialized testing equipment (e.g., photo tachometer, diagnostics tools and hardware, scanners and meters);
• A valid driver’s license is required for this position and must be able to pass the requirements to obtain an airport badge;
• Ability to travel to our other IDS Airport stations to help our company when called upon (TDY).

• Physically strenuous, prolonged periods of time standing with exposure to noise (may be excessive at times), safe but potentially unpleasant odors, varying temperatures and humidity, in and around heavy moving equipment.

• Must be able to use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms, speak and hear efficiently;
• Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, pushing and pulling;
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
