Position Description
Ryder is hiring an experienced Mid-Level Diesel Technician in York, Pennsylvania. This position offers weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a career focused on maintaining and repairing heavy-duty vehicles.
- Hourly Pay: $26.00 per hour
- Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE Certification obtained, up to $700
- Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 every quarter
- Sign-On Bonus: $1,250 at 30 days and $1,250 at 90 days
- Schedule:
Monday–Friday, weekends OFF - Hours:
First Shift 6:30 am – 3:00 pm - Medical, Dental, Vision after 30 days
- 80 hours PTO in the first year, starting Day 1

- Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties.
- Conduct standard vehicle maintenance and component inspections.
- Perform preventive maintenance.
- Diagnose mechanical and electronic problems, using diagnostic computers when applicable.
- Identify root causes of failures and perform necessary repairs.
- Replace defective components as instructed.
- Complete facility maintenance duties.
- Interact with customers and drivers to assess complaints.
- Utilize the Shop Management System and electronic documentation.
- Comply with all federal, provincial, and corporate guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT).
- Provide support duties as required, including Service Island support.
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Vocational or technical certification, post-secondary degree, or technical certifications (preferred).
- Demonstrated aptitude and experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventive maintenance such as oil changes, brake and tire work.
- Two (2) years or more of combined classroom training and work experience (preferred).
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A, preferred.
- Must be able to obtain a CDL within 6 months after hire.
- Pass a Ryder Drug Test, DOT physical, Ryder road test, and background check including motor vehicle records for the last 3 years.
- Some positions require additional screening, such as employment and education verification, motor vehicle record checks, a road test, or customer-specific background and badge requirements.
