Appliance Service Technician (Allentown, PA) –

Location:

USA, Allentown, PA

• As a Bodewell Appliance Care Technician, diagnose and complete in-home repairs on GE Appliances’ major appliances.
• Use sound judgment to recommend repair vs replacement based on cost-effectiveness and customer needs, prioritizing repairs whenever practical.
• Promote and sell service contracts, water filters, and related products/appliances as appropriate, focusing on value-driven solutions and the best customer experience.
• Operate an assigned Bodewell service van to customer locations.
• Accurately document repairs, routes, and work activities.
• Participate in training sessions, meetings, and events to maintain industry expertise.
• Manage inventory and maintenance of your service vehicle.
• Deliver high-quality service and maintain strong customer satisfaction.
• Follow all safety protocols to protect yourself and others.

• Minimum Qualifications:
  • HS Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • 1+ years of experience with appliance repair, electrical, mechanical, HVAC, or property maintenance
  • Ability/experience diagnosing and repairing major appliances
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills with a responsive, professional approach
  • Basic computer aptitude including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook and Teams)
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule with some Saturdays as needed
  • Valid state driver’s license and ability to complete background check, physical, and drug screen
  • Must have or be willing to obtain CFC Certification within 6 months
  • Wear uniform and maintain standards of personal grooming and appearance consistent with GE Appliance values
  • Self-directed and solid team player
  • Ability to de-escalate situations and rebuild customer confidence in our products
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without accommodation, including lifting (min. 77 lbs), pushing/pulling (70 lbs), and working with parts/equipment that may be hot, cold, or wet

• 6+ months of experience with refrigeration repair
• Experience using Salesforce or similar CRM systems
• CFC Certification in appliance repair or an associate’s degree
• Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics and other service information
