DESCRIPTIONOF WORK
This role focuses on delivering classroom and on‑job training and instruction in electrical work to inmates at the facility. Work supports safe, organized, and effective vocational learning. As a Corrections Electrical Trade Instructor, you will perform the following duties:
- Classroom Instruction:
Teach the standard methods, practices, and procedures needed to install, construct, repair, inspect, and maintain a variety of electrical systems and appliances - On-the-Job Training:
Oversee and direct crews completing electrical work orders, provide hands‑on instruction and demonstrations, and inspect completed assignments - Progress Documentation:
Maintain records of inmate training progress, attendance, and daily assignments - Workshop Inventory:
Issue and track the use of all tools and materials; conduct searches to ensure everything is accounted for - Project Planning:
Determine materials needed for projects and submit purchase requests - Classroom Management:
Maintain order and discipline during instruction, training, and work tasks

Work Schedule and Additional Information:- Full‑time employment, 40 hours per week
- Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday – Friday.
- This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.

You will not have the option to telework in this position. - Salary:
Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of 53,036 (before taxes). - You will receive further communication regarding this position via email. - Five years of experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment used in buildings; or
- Completion of an approved apprenticeship in the electrical trade; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes one year of journey level work in the electrical trade.
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
