Responsibilities and Duties- Safety Oversight: Maintain safe conditions by supervising residents and staff, and responding to security concerns
- Case Planning: Direct the development and review of individual treatment plans following established guidelines
- Staff Supervision: Train, evaluate, and guide employees to ensure quality care and effective practices
- Program Coordination: Communicate with agencies, schools, and service providers to support treatment services
- Behavior Management: Model positive behavior and intervene in situations to maintain order and support resident growth
- Record Review: Document and communicate observations, incidents, and resident progress according to procedures
- Full‑time employment, 40 hours per week
- The North Central Secure Treatment Unit operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. This is shift work with varying 8‑hour shifts based on program needs, with 1 weekend per month and holidays as assigned.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $72,252.00 (before taxes).

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of experience as a Youth Development Counselor (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- One year of professional counseling experience with court adjudicated or socially maladjusted individuals in an organized program, and a bachelor’s degree in the behavioral sciences, special education, juvenile justice, or criminal justice; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes one year of professional counseling experience with court adjudicated or socially maladjusted individuals in an organized program.
- PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
