Youth Development Counselor Supervisor - North Secure Treatment Unit

• Safety Oversight: Maintain safe conditions by supervising residents and staff, and responding to security concerns
• Case Planning: Direct the development and review of individual treatment plans following established guidelines
• Staff Supervision: Train, evaluate, and guide employees to ensure quality care and effective practices
• Program Coordination: Communicate with agencies, schools, and service providers to support treatment services
• Behavior Management: Model positive behavior and intervene in situations to maintain order and support resident growth
• Record Review: Document and communicate observations, incidents, and resident progress according to procedures

• Full‑time employment, 40 hours per week
• The North Central Secure Treatment Unit operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. This is shift work with varying 8‑hour shifts based on program needs, with 1 weekend per month and holidays as assigned.

• Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $72,252.00 (before taxes).

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• One year of experience as a Youth Development Counselor (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
• One year of professional counseling experience with court adjudicated or socially maladjusted individuals in an organized program, and a bachelor’s degree in the behavioral sciences, special education, juvenile justice, or criminal justice; or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes one year of professional counseling experience with court adjudicated or socially maladjusted individuals in an organized program.

• PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

• A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
• This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
