Our challenge
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior/Lead Java Developer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in developing scalable, robust enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, Microservices architecture, Kafka, and Angular. Ideal candidate will play a vital role in designing, developing, and implementing complex solutions, leading technical initiatives, and driving best practices.
Additional Information
* The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Pittsburgh, PA is $110k - $120k/year & benefits (see below).
The Role
Responsibilities:
* Lead the design, development, and maintenance of enterprise-level web applications and services.
* Architect and develop microservices using Java with Spring Boot, ensuring they are scalable, secure, and maintainable.
* Design and implement RESTful APIs and integrate with various systems and third-party services.
* Develop, test, and deploy front-end applications using Angular, ensuring a responsive and user-friendly interface.
* Work with Kafka for event-driven architecture, stream processing, and real-time data ingestion.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, QA, and Dev Ops to deliver high-quality solutions.
* Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior developers within the team.
* Implement best practices for code quality, testing, CI/CD pipelines, and documentation.
* Participate in architectural discussions and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
* Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends to incorporate innovative solutions.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
* Strong professional experience in Java full stack development.
* Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices architecture.
* Hands-on experience working with Kafka and building event-driven systems.
* Proficiency in front-end development using Angular (version 8+ preferred).
* Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes is a plus.
* Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is advantageous.
* Solid understanding of API design, data modeling, and database technologies (SQL and No
SQL).
* Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to architect scalable solutions.
* Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Preferred, but not required:
* Knowledge of Dev Ops practices and tools (Jenkins, Maven, Git).
* Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
* Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack).
