In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:
- Design, build, and evolve scalable OTC derivatives valuation workflows, including orchestration and integration with multiple internal and external pricing providers.
- Act as a hands-on senior engineer, contributing directly to backend services, workflow engines, and key integrations.
- Own technical design for valuation orchestration platforms, including pricing provider routing, extensibility, and resiliency.
- Leverage AI-assisted engineering tools such as Windsurf, Claude, and similar copilots to accelerate development and improve code quality.
- Mentor and guide small, focused engineering PODs, providing execution leadership without direct people management responsibility.
- Partner with Product and Middle Office Operations to translate business needs into scalable, production-ready solutions.
- Establish and uphold high standards for SDLC, CI/CD, testing, performance engineering, and platform reliability.
To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related discipline; advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience with deep full-stack expertise.
- Proven experience building valuation, pricing, or calculation-intensive workflows, ideally within derivatives or capital markets platforms.
- Strong expertise in Java, Spring / Spring Boot, microservices, REST APIs, and event-driven architectures.
- Experience integrating multiple external service providers, including pricing or calculation engines.
- Working knowledge of modern front-end frameworks such as React or Angular.
- Hands-on experience with AI-driven developer tools (e.g., Windsurf, Claude, or equivalent).
- Experience with cloud platforms, containerization, CI/CD pipelines, and modern Dev Ops practices.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and guide POD-level execution without direct reporting lines.
- Demonstrates passion, initiative, and the ability to quickly develop strong domain knowledge of derivatives data, workflows, and end-to-end process flows in order to drive effective technology solutions.
