Position Overview

First Student is hiring a Part‑time Dispatcher in Erie, PA serving Iroquois & RBW school districts.

Pay Rate: $26.00 per hour

Hours: Monday‑Friday split shift: 6:30am‑9:00am and 1:30pm‑5:00pm

• Oversee all routes and schedule buses.
• Dispatch all buses, ensuring on‑time performance of routes.
• Provide counseling to drivers and monitors on the front line.
• Handle heavy phone and radio traffic.
• Accept scheduling and driver complaints, report to Operations Supervisor/Contract Manager.
• Serve as primary communication liaison with major contracted customer.
• Handle charter reservations, billing, or driver payroll as needed.
• Provide solutions to drop‑off and pick‑up problems.
• Perform backup driver duties or miscellaneous clerical duties as needed.
• Complete assignment of special projects.
• Assist in supervision of day‑to‑day operations.

• 3‑5 years of experience in terminal operations, dispatch, or driver support.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of radio dispatch equipment.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to deliver under time constraints and deadlines.
• Computer literate.
• Subject to DOT drug testing and physical.
