** ABOUT THE TANGLEWOOD MUSIC CENTER
** Since its founding in 1940 with the mission of providing a “unique opportunity for a summer of living and working in music” the Tanglewood Music Center has been the premiere summer music festival for young musicians in the United States. Around 130 TMC Fellows attend the TMC each summer to focus on their studies in six programs:
Composition, Conducting, Instrumental, Library, Piano, and Vocal Arts. TMC Fellows reside on the campus of Miss Hall’s School in Pittsfield, MA and engage in daily rehearsals, classes, and performances on the Tanglewood campus in nearby Lenox. The TMC’s faculty and guest artists are world-class and nonpareil; a summer at TMC is seen by many as the final link between a first-rate musical education and a full-time professional career.
