The Wardrobe Technician supports the Wardrobe Supervisor in the daily care and maintenance of costumes. This role is primarily focused on the physical execution of show tracks, including assisting actors with changes and Performing Laundry Duties.
Responsibilities- Assist in performing laundry duties, ironing, steaming, shoe polishing, and preset costumes onstage and backstage; return them to dressing rooms post-show.
- Presets: perform basic sewing repairs and maintenance on show-rigged garments.
- Assist in load-in and strike of costumes for each production.
- Assist actors in getting into costumes during rehearsals and shows and facilitate quick changes.
- Other duties as assigned by Production Management.
- Prior Backstage Wardrobe experience in a professional theater environment.
- Basic sewing skills for repairs and quick-change rigging.
- Ability to stand for long periods and remain calm in high-stress situations.
- Must be comfortable working with students and volunteers.
