Job Summary: The Tubing Park Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the tubing area, ensuring a safe, efficient, and enjoyable experience for guests. This role includes supervising staff, maintaining equipment and tubing lanes, and upholding resort safety and service standards.
Job Description:
- Train and supervise Tube Town staff
- Oversee all daily operations of Tube Town
- Oversee all pre-operational setup of carpet and tubing surfaces, including snow removal, fence maintenance, setting up the tubing lanes
- Ensure that all morning pre-operational checks are completed properly
- Provide breaks to Tube Town employees
- Ensure all shut-down procedures are followed and that Tube Town is ready to be reset the following morning
- Identify problem areas (signs not visible, ropes not in place, potential hazards, etc.) and rectify them as soon as possible
- Assist in the maintenance of carpet load and unload ramps throughout the day
- Schedule staff to ensure sufficient staffing
- Communicate any variations from normal operating schedule (events, private bookings, etc.) to daily staff
- Take charge of communication during a lift down-time situation
- Assist in base-area operations during a lift evac situation
- Print, file and ensure proper completion of daily operations logs
- Fill out incident reports and investigate any carpet-related incidents
- Assist Lift Maintenance staff to ensure reliable operation of lifts
- Inspect fire extinguishers monthly
- Handle and respond to customer complaints
- Ensure cleanliness of Tube Town buildings/cabanas/sheds and other work areas
- Perform all tasks of a Carpet Operator or Ticket Checker as needed
- Work in different departments resort wide as needed
NOTE: All Bousquet Mountain employees are required to perform alternate functions from time to time, both within and outside of their assigned department, particularly during peak periods such as holiday weekends.
Customer Service Expectations: The Tube Town Supervisor has direct customer contact and is responsible for supervising front-line staff whose jobs involve constant customer interaction. It is therefore of utmost importance that the Tube Town Supervisor be courteous and professional in accordance with Bousquet's commitment to providing superior customer service.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in outdoor recreation, ski area operations, or guest services preferred.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Ability to work outdoors in extreme winter conditions.
- Available to work weekends, holidays, and evenings.
- CPR/First Aid certification (preferred or required depending on resort).
- Good work ethic, dependability and excellent customer service & communication skills
- Familiarity the ski industry in general
- Leadership qualities and a respect for staff
- Knowledge on Spanish Language is helpful
Physical and Mental Demands: Involves lifting up to 50 pounds. Requires ability to shovel snow and/or ice, raking, and clearing snow/ice from carpet surface. Requires periods of standing and walking on slippery and/or uneven snow or icy surfaces and driving a side-by-side all-terrain vehicle.
Work Environment: Position involves working outside in all weather conditions, including extreme cold, snow, wind, and rain, on varied snow surfaces, and requires being on your feet for much of the scheduled shift. Some time is spent inside, but inside time still requires alertness and attention to the lift and passengers.
Employment Status
The holder of this position is a seasonal, part-time employee and will not be eligible for Company benefits other than those which are required by law. Other benefits, such as those outlined in the employee handbook will be provided. This position at Bousquet Mountain will be consistent with the concept of employment At Will in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, which means there is no guarantee of employment, and both the employer and employee can terminate the employment relationship at any time with or without reason and with or without notice.
