The Bousquet Ski Area rental shop technician is a cornerstone of the mountain resort experience. Often working diligently behind the scenes, these professionals ensure that guests are equipped with safe, functional, and well-maintained gear before they head out onto the slopes. Their expertise in ski and snowboard equipment, customer service, and safety makes them essential not only to the smooth operation of a ski resort, but to the enjoyment and safety of visitors.

The Rental Shop Technician is responsible for the day-to-day operation of tasks associated with the Bousquet Rental Shop including overseeing the daily operation, inventory control, safety compliance, and customer satisfaction within the rental shop environment

Job Description:

• Post–Hire/Pre-season requirements
• Complete all required in-person and on-line training segments including passing the Marker Certification Programs
• Review and acknowledge the Bousquet Employee Handbook
• Complete all required employment forms and documentation
• Day to Day Operations
• Equipment Fitting and Adjustment — Evaluating customers’ physical characteristics, ability level, and preferences to select and properly fit skis, snowboards, boots, poles, and helmets.
• Calibration and Safety Checks — Adjusting ski binding release settings based on industry standards, skier weight, height, age, and ability to ensure maximum safety on the slopes.
• Maintenance and Repair — Performing routine maintenance, such as waxing, edge sharpening, base grinding, and minor repairs on equipment to keep rental fleets in optimal condition.
• Sanitization and Inventory Management — Cleaning and sanitizing equipment between uses and maintaining accurate records of inventory to ensure adequate supply and prompt replacement of worn or damaged items.
• Customer Service — Greeting guests, answering questions about equipment and ski area operations, and providing guidance and instruction on the proper use of gear.
• Problem-solving and Troubleshooting — Quickly addressing issues that arise with equipment or customer needs, often in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.
