Berkshire Community College (BCC) has the distinction of being the first community college established in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The One Stop Enrollment Center is seeking an Enrollment Counselor to work in a fast-paced, high energy, and service-oriented environment. Reporting to the Director of Admissions, this position will serve as a member of the enrollment services team and support recruitment initiatives, including meeting with prospective students, assisting with the enrollment process including certificate or degree program overview and admission requirements.
The Enrollment Counselor is responsible for planning and conducting recruitment events both on and off campus including high school visits, campus tours, group visits, college fairs, and community events.
- Provide information to prospects, applicants, and students via telephone, e-mail, website, walk-in visits, or scheduled appointments;
- Offer guidance and assistance to prospective students and applicants regarding college programs and financial and academic planning;
- Conduct recruitment presentations, information sessions, campus tours, and participate in various enrollment events;
- Collaborate with select local high schools and community-based organizations on admission activities relating to recruitment and the enrollment process;
- Collect and maintain student information in the College's CRM and communication systems.
- Process admissions, enrollments, withdrawals, transfer credit evaluations, and related student records activities.
- Assist prospective and international students with admissions applications and required documentation.
- Participate in college, division, and department meetings, events, trainings, open house, career panels, information sessions, etc. and serve on college committees, working groups, task forces and other professional organizations recommended and approved by supervisor;
- Conducts campus tours as needed;
- Support One Stop Enrollment Center operations and student service initiatives.
- Utilize student information systems, CRM platforms, communication tools, and Microsoft Office applications to support enrollment services.
- Perform related duties consistent with the responsibilities of the position.
- Work occasional evenings and weekends as required.
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Business Administration, or closely related field; with two (2) years experience and/or training involving college enrollment, customer relations, or office administration; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Experience in recruiting, outreach, or sales roles;
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively;
- Excellent problem-solving skills;
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills;
- High level of experience in Microsoft Office, MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel;
- Ability and willingness to travel locally and to work occasional weekends and evenings;
- Must have reliable transportation to conduct outreach and recruitment activities throughout the service area.
Skills:
- Prior community college or other higher education experiences;
- Recruitment and/or Admissions experience in Higher Education;
- Bi-lingual or Multi-lingual.
