The Role Senior Advanced Manufacturing Engineer
As a Senior Advanced Manufacturing Engineer at Pittsfield, Massachusetts, you'll be a member of a highly motivated cross functional team responsible for overcoming daily production challenges and continuously delivering on commitments.

Our Senior Advanced Manufacturing Engineer will develop manufacturing engineering tools, strategies and systems, floor layouts and plans for new or existing products and processes. This will require procedural documentation for the implementation and maintenance of methods, operational sequence and equipment calibration requirements. At GDMS, we continually seek ways to develop and improve manufacturing methods, utilizing our team's knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.

What you bring to the table:
- A Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering, a related specialized area or field is required (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
- Strong ability to clearly recognize and report information relevant to sound manufacturing engineering design.
- Expectational knowledge of manufacturing and engineering systems and applications.
- Strong use and understanding of manufacturing engineering concepts, principles, and theories.
- Extensive knowledge of Engineering and/or Manufacturing best practices.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proficient in MS Office Software.
- PC skills with Engineering and office related software systems. Experience using 3D CAD Design Software.
- Experience with manufacturing efficiency strategies such as Lean, Six Sigma Green or Black Belt, 5S, Value Stream mapping, etc.
- Systemic problem solver, with experience implementing solutions to solve root cause problems.
- Decision-making skills and ability to work independently and with a team.
- Attention to detail and tasks being performed to identify potential risks with the processes and products.
- Able to identify critical component functions and determine which manufacturing techniques will provide the optimal outcome.
- Mechanical knowledge and aptitude to analyze and troubleshoot abnormal operation conditions on equipment, devices, fixtures, among others.
- Knowledge and understanding of T9001.
- Work independently - self‑motivated.
- Proficiency with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tools, and document control principles preferred.
- Statistical methods, statistical process control and sampling plans.
Job Summary:
Work collaboratively with fellow Manufacturing Engineering staff to continuously improve manufacturing process performance, transfer new products into production, product and problem diagnosis and repair. Support the development, qualification, verification, and validation of changes to existing product and manufacturing processes. Maximizes efficiency by analyzing equipment layouts, workflow, assembly methods, and work force and equipment utilization. Develops short-term and long-term operational strategies in partnership with team members and provides input necessary for the successful design, development, and execution of that strategy to achieve measurable outcomes in a timely, cost‑effective manner.
