Job Description
Our client, a large defense contractor, has an immediate opening for a Systems Engineer to work from their Pittsfield MA facility.
QualificationsRequires a Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, Technology or Mathematics field. Also requires 2+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree and 6 months of job-related experience.
Clearance RequirementsDepartment of Defense Secret security clearance is obtainable within a reasonable amount of time after hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
Role and Position ObjectivesAs a systems engineer for Strategic Weapons Control, you'll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for modernizing existing and future strategic weapons platforms.
Preferred Skills or Experiences- Fire Control Systems (FCS) experience
- System requirements; documentation management, testing, verification, and validation
- Hardware and software integration; planning, testing, troubleshooting, and report generation
- Engineering leadership; excellent communication and presentation skills, cross-discipline engineering knowledge, design review package generation, and developing customer intimacy
- Clear understanding of systems engineering concepts, principles, theories, and technical standards
- Clear understanding of requirements management and system modeling tools
- Creative thinker with ability to grasp and apply new information quickly and handle increasing responsibilities with growing complexity
- Team player who thrives in collaborative environments and revels in team success
- Commitment to ongoing professional development for yourself and others
- Identifies opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation
- This position is on-site with the potential to flex from home 1-2 days per week.
