The Stage Manager is responsible for the artistic and operational execution of each performance of Nutcracker! Magical Christmas Ballet. This position oversees rehearsals, backstage operations, cue calling, and the day-to-day management of performers and crew to ensure the production is presented safely, efficiently, and in accordance with the Company's artistic standards. The Stage Manager serves as the backstage operational lead during rehearsals and performances while working closely with the Production Manager to maintain the overall quality and integrity of the production.

Primary Responsibilities

Manage and oversee all company rehearsals, children's rehearsals, dance classes, and the physical running of each performance.

Advance call times with Dance Studio partners. Manage day of show schedule for children’s cast (call time, rehearsal, show call, dismissal).

Serve as the backstage operational lead during rehearsals and performances, coordinating performers, crew communication, and show flow.

Work collaboratively with the Production Manager to maintain the artistic quality and integrity of the production.

Call all performance and rail cues accurately and consistently.

Prepare and distribute daily performance reports using the Company's reporting template.

Manage crew schedules and coordinate day-of-show workflow with local stagehands and touring personnel.

Share responsibility with the Carpenter for the management of all production props, including puppets and hard goods.

Oversee the loading and unloading of props during load-in and load-out, ensuring all items are properly distributed to their designated Stage Left and Stage Right preset locations.

Oversee the backstage organization, tracking, and readiness of all props during rehearsals and performances.

Monitor the condition of all props, report damage or maintenance needs immediately, and coordinate timely repair or replacement with the Production Manager.

Prepare and maintain daily water, coffee, and tea service for touring crew members and dancers.

Perform additional duties as assigned by the Production Manager.
