Salary Range: $66,699 - $122,975

Actual compensation within the pay range will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior relevant experience, and specific work location.

Location:

Hybrid within MA, CT, NY, VT, RI

Perform financial analysis and prepare underwriting documents to support and make recommendations for complex multimillion-dollar commercial credit requests and vendor arrangements. The Sr. Credit Associate provides support for the deal team in analysis, approval, and execution.

• Responsible for supporting the most complex ABL transactions
• Accountable for underwriting all business opportunities.
• Communicates and maintains active dialogue with both the Relationship Manager and Client.
• Reviews financial statements, projection models and all other relevant financial and non‑financial data to develop a concise focused analytical foundation for a credit decision.
• Prepares thorough credit underwriting identifying industry concerns, market share trends, financial trends, and other pertinent underwriting issues to present to the approving Credit Officer or Loan Committee.
• Ensures underwriting and structuring decisions reflect commitment to strong asset quality.
• Prepares analysis and write‑ups for amendments, consents, and waivers to existing credit documentation.
• Conducts periodic site visits with the Relationship Manager to assess management and business conditions.
• Attends bank meetings when applicable.
• Ensures risk rating accuracy and compliance with Credit Policy.
• Monitors the financial performance of portfolio companies to include ongoing covenant compliance and annual reviews.
• Mentors the Credit Underwriters and Credit Associates.
• Assumes additional responsibilities and duties as necessary to ensure department objectives are met. May manage the distribution and taking of minutes for Executive Loan Committee.
• Assists in department objectives by determining to extend credit to complex commercial relationships. In addition, provides analysis and recommendation to conduct business with specific participation banks and vendors.
• Coordinates with both the Relationship and Portfolio Managers in making recommendation regarding the extension of credit to new and existing commercial clients. In addition, works closely with both the Relationship and Portfolio Managers on making recommendations on business relationships with commercial clients.
• Assist with the completion of various projects as outlined by management regarding the credit quality of the portfolio or other projects as needed.
• Ensures compliance with all banking laws, rules, regulations, and prescribed policies/practices/procedures necessary to reduce risk and uphold ethical standards related to and required to one's duties.

• Undergraduate degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or Economics preferred.

• 8+ years of commercial credit underwriting experience or with preference for working on middle market, ABL, and commercial real‑estate transactions.

• Strong analytical skills and knowledge of both financial and managerial accounting.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
