Position Title: Mortgage Origination Officer

Work Arrangement: In-Office (8:30a-5:00p Monday-Friday; rotating Saturday 1-2/mth 8:30a-12:30p)

Bilingual: Preferred not required

Bilingual employees are eligible to receive a stipend in addition to the posted pay range below after completing a proficiency test.

Sign on bonus
: $1,500.00 sign on bonus available for full-time employment. Eligibility for the bonus is $500 after successful completion of onboarding/training to be paid with two months of service, and $1,000 after 6 months of continued full-time satisfactory service.

The Mortgage Origination Officer serves as a primary relationship builder and home loan expert for members and prospects. This role is responsible for originating, counseling, and guiding members through the mortgage lending process while ensuring regulatory compliance and alignment with Credit Union goals. Officers may specialize in outreach, underwriting, or business development depending on career level, with increased volume, complexity, or coaching responsibility corresponding to higher grades.

Originate and underwrite a full range of real estate loan products to meet member needs and Credit Union production goals while ensuring compliance with all lending policies and secondary market guidelines.

Support the full mortgage process by collecting documentation, ensuring timely follow-up with members and processors, and maintaining accurate and compliant loan files.

Provide personalized credit counseling and mortgage readiness coaching to borrowers, particularly those from LMI and historically underserved communities, to increase equitable access to home ownership.

Promote and cross-sell Credit Union products and services, encouraging use of Greylock as the member’s Primary Financial Institution.

Develop, manage, and deepen relationships with community partners, realtors, attorneys, housing agencies, and financial education providers to expand the Credit Union’s presence and mortgage loan outreach

Performance Measurements:

  • Meet or exceed monthly and annual mortgage production and outreach goals.
  • Maintain loan documentation accuracy and compliance with internal and regulatory guidelines.
  • Receive positive feedback from members and community partners regarding financial education and lending experience.
  • Increase the number of applications from first-time home buyers, LMI, or minority borrowers through outreach.
  • Foster strong internal and external relationships to support member acquisition and loan pipeline growth.
  • Upholds Greylock’s cultural standards by fostering respect, inclusion, psychological safety, and collaboration in all interactions.

Knowledge and

Skills:

Experience:

3–5 years of experience in mortgage origination, real estate lending, or community financial services required.

Education:

Associate’s degree or equivalent through specialized coursework. Additional business coursework preferred.

Interpersonal

Skills:

Must demonstrate empathy, cultural competency, and strong relationship-building skills. Able to collaborate across departments and external stakeholders.
