We are hiring a Speech Therapist to join our dynamic care team at Webster Manor Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in Webster!

As a Speech Therapist, you will provide patient/resident assessment, care planning, direct treatment, and consultation to a general rehab caseload; participate in the clinical team process; provide teaching and training to caregiver staff; and supervise other assistants, aides, and students as required.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science or Master of Science Degree in Speech Therapy.
  • Current licensure by the applicable state agency.
  • Two (2) years of clinical experience in long-term care preferred.
  • CEUs per state licensure requirements.
  • New graduates welcome!

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Screen patients/residents.
  • Evaluate patients/residents and develop appropriate care plans.
  • Perform additional assigned administrative duties such as assigning and overseeing resident care activities, medical record oversight, assuring execution of physician orders, ordering supplies, etc.
  • Under a physician’s order, provide direct resident treatments in accordance with an established plan of care. Treatment venue includes individual, supervised, and group.
  • Contribute to the team meeting and decision-making process as defined by the program.
  • Consult with and train patients/residents and caregivers.
  • Monitor efficiencies on an ongoing basis in collaboration with supervisor.
  • Document activities according to the company’s clinical documentation system on a timely basis.
  • Demonstrate consistent knowledge and application of Medicare and other reimbursement regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, residents, team members, customers, and supervisor.
  • Participate in clinical program development and implementation.
  • Participate in the training and orientation of other staff.
  • Demonstrate ability for continuous new learning to remain current in the field.
  • Comply with facility Privacy Practices policies and procedures and protect residents’ individual health information.
  • Perform additional duties as requested by supervisor.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities.
  • Responsible for service and operational excellence of all assigned activities to ensure the delivery of quality services and/or outcomes required to meet or exceed the expectations of those utilizing or impacted by the department.

  • Ability to function effectively in multi-faceted systems and to interact effectively with all levels of staff and customers.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Standing and walking for significant amounts of time is necessary.
  • Excellent hearing and verbal skills required for directing staff, customer relations, and marketing activities.
  • Manual dexterity required for documentation needs, manipulations of equipment, and for direct patient care.
  • Requires intense attention and concentration.
  • Ability to cope with periodic stress associated with changing census and staffing demands.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage time effectively for self and others.
  • Ability to deal with a wide range of personality types, ages, and diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Ability to articulate and comprehend the English language.
