Ultrasound Technologist

Overview

This role performs a wide variety of technical procedures to ensure the proper care of the patients in accordance with the departmental and hospital policies and procedures. is required. May be responsible to assume responsibilities of supervision or instruction to department personnel as determined by Operations Manager or Lead Technologist.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum qualifications are required unless stated otherwise.)

• Experience:
  
  Three years experience as Ultrasonographer preferred.
• Must obtain registry from ARDMS or ARRT within 2 years of employment
• Education and Training:
  Must have completed approved Diagnostic Sonography Technology Program.
• Additional registration and state license as a diagnostic technologist preferred
• License, Certification & Registration: ARRTS
  - Registered Sonographer through ARRT or ARDMS
• CPR - CPR is required
• Other Requirements:
  If you are currently employed and possess a Massachusetts Diagnostic Radiography License and Registration by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists, you must be maintain these credentials throughout your employment.
• Must be proficient in Abdominal, Pelvic, and Obstetrical , dvt studies of arms and legs and obtaining images using portable equipment.
• Must be familiar with sterile technique and set up of sterile trays.
• Ability to function independently and proficiently.
• Must be able to move and lift patients, equipment, and supplies on a regular basis.
• Ability to function in a high stress, work intensive environment.
• Must be able to use independent judgment and ingenuity.
• Initiative to apply appropriate skills to facilitate a diagnosis.
