Clinical Laboratory Scientist; CLS​/MT or MLS

Experience

• A minimum of 2 years of recent clinical laboratory experience as a Generalist or across multiple disciplines including Chemistry, Urinalysis, Blood Bank / Immunohematology, Hematology, Coagulation, Microbiology

• Must be nationally certified as a Medical Technologist: MT, MLS, or CLS (ASCP or equivalent nationally recognized certification)

• Perform complex laboratory testing in accordance with VA policies, CLIA standards, and established laboratory protocols.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and analyzers.
• Validate, interpret, and report laboratory results with accuracy and clinical relevance.
• Support specimen processing, workflow management, and timely turnaround of results.
• Maintain competency across all assigned laboratory sections.

• Work may be performed in any laboratory section as assigned by the VA.
• May require standing for extended periods, lifting supplies, and working with biohazardous materials.
