Full Time , Shift 1 , 40 , 8:00am-4:30pm

Monday - Friday, Rotating Holidays

The Substance Abuse Counselor is the designation given to individuals who provide direct care to substance abuse patients in all phases of their inpatient stay. This position provides the patient with an initial orientation session, an initial assessment, sign release of information consents, coordinates treatment planning, and educational group activities. The Substance Abuse Counselor functions as an integral part of the multidisciplinary team, applying his/her knowledge to assist the patient/ family to increase their coping skills throughout the patients hospital stay and prepare them for discharge.

The Substance Abuse Counselor practices professionally within the Customer Service Standards defined by Berkshire Medical Center.

(Minimum qualifications are required unless stated otherwise.)

Two years of experience in Substance Abuse Field, preferably in an inpatient setting preferred.

Bachelor's degree in Health and Human Services or any other related field.

CADC or LADC I or II can be substituted for the above defined educational requirements.

CPR Certified within 3 months of hire.

The minimum and maximum of the hourly pay range for this position is shown above. Actual rates of pay may vary based on a range of factors including but not limited to experience and qualifications.
