This ITC Maintenance Janitor position is responsible for performing the routine regular cleaning and light maintenance of the BRTA Intermodal Transit Center (ITC) Building in a safe and efficient manner. The primary work location of this position is 1 Columbus Ave, Pittsfield, MA 01201. Duties include minor building repairs, landscape, inventory control of cleaning materials and storage of such. Other specific duties and responsibilities are listed below.

Janitors must be alert, professional, responsible, and interact well with others. Janitors must be able to work flexible hours as assigned. Reports on any known safety issues that may arise. This position reports directly to The Director Of Maintenance.

• Cleaning the concourse, restrooms, second floor restrooms, lobby floor, chairs and tables at least twice daily and as required.
• Cleaning the drivers' area.
• Cleaning the second floor offices and hallways at least twice a week and as required.
• Cleaning all windows, inside and out.
• Trash removal from concourse, offices, etc.
• Cleaning the building sidewalks, including sweeping and snow removal.
• General repairs for minor damages from normal wear-and-tear customer usage.
• General and routine repairs necessary to preserve building integrity (window caulking, tile/carpet replacement, drywall repair/painting, minor plumbing/carpentry repairs, graffiti removal, etc.).
• Maintaining the landscape of ITC building, mowing, and weeding as needed.
• Inspect all operating systems of the ITC building to make sure proper working order is maintained.
• Provide assistance to the public on train platform during Amtrak service for customer questions and directions.
• Safely operate cleaning, snow removal, and landscaping equipment as required.
• Perform monthly building inspections.
• Provide a presence in the building to deter loitering individuals from the property and to assist customers.
• Interacting with community members and the general public as required.
• Attending training scheduled by the department supervisor and/or Assistant General Manager.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

• Janitorial experience strongly preferred, but not required.
• High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred, but not required.
• Plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, and landscaping experience is preferred, but not required.
• Must be able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds, work in all-weather environments including sun, shade, heat, wind, rain, snow, as well as sit, stand, crouch, bend, and kneel as required.
• This position requires some shift flexibility for coverage and may participate in a rotating on-call status.
