Job DescriptionReporting to the Senior Associate Director, Corporate and Foundation Relations, the Assistant/Associate/Senior Associate Director, Corporate and Foundation Relations role requires positive, productive and ongoing interaction with faculty, senior administration, trustee volunteers and major donor prospects. The CFR team plays a critical role in finding funding for projects and specialized research, often serving as a bridge between researchers and private foundations. Specific responsibilities include identification of prospects based on extensive analysis using written and online research resources;
participation in the cultivation and stewardship of corporate and foundation donors of all levels; involvement in the direct solicitation of corporations and foundations; developing and in some cases, drafting major proposals for senior administration and faculty, and other assignments, as necessary.
The salary range for this position is listed below, with the final salary based on various factors, including the candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and internal equity considerations:
- Senior Associate Director: $107,350 - $134,200; 5+ years related professional experience
- Associate Director: $88,150 - $110,200; 3-5 years related professional experience
- Assistant Director: $76,050 - $95,050; 1-3 years experience
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree; a graduate degree preferred. The minimum requirements are 1-3 years of professional level experience in corporate and foundation fundraising at the Assistant Director level, 3-5 years at the Associate Director level, and 5+ at the Senior Associate Director level. To be eligible for consideration for the Senior Associate Director, a candidate must show evidence of leadership, self-direction, initiative and problem-solving ability and successfully managing a major corporate and/or foundation prospect portfolio.
Preference for experience at an institution of higher education or a hospital at all levels. A combination of corporate, foundation, or organizational fundraising and other directly transferable experience from such fields as government grant seeking or corporate philanthropy will be considered for all levels.
The position requires excellent interpersonal skills; a demonstrated ability to compose strong, clearly written material, including general correspondence and major proposals that articulate funding priorities. In addition, the…
