We are seeking an experienced and hands‑on CNC Department Supervisor to lead daily operations within our Laser and Press Brake departments. This role is responsible for overseeing the precision fabrication of heavy‑gauge armor plate components utilizing advanced CNC machinery, including Trumpf laser cutting systems and hydraulic press brakes.
As a key leader in our manufacturing operation, you will drive workflow efficiency, enforce rigorous quality standards, and ensure the structural integrity and high‑tolerance fitment of components critical to specialized vehicle platforms. This is a high‑impact leadership opportunity within a performance‑driven machine shop environment.
Military experience equivalency may substitute for some requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and supervise CNC operators within the Laser and Press Brake departments, ensuring productivity and precision.
- Direct the workflow of armor plate components from laser cutting through final precision bending.
- Serve as the technical authority for reviewing blueprints, CAD drawings, and job specifications.
- Select and oversee proper tooling, dies, and machine setups for heavy‑gauge steel fabrication.
- Manage and coordinate preventive maintenance programs for CNC equipment and shop machinery.
- Monitor and enforce quality control standards using precision measurement tools (calipers, protractors, squares, etc.).
- Maintain strict adherence to OSHA and shop safety standards, particularly in heavy material handling operations.
- Oversee safe and efficient movement of materials using forklifts and overhead cranes.
- Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and craftsmanship.
- 5+ years of leadership experience within a CNC machine shop or heavy metal fabrication environment.
- Advanced expertise in CNC programming and operation, particularly with Trumpf laser and press brake equipment.
- Strong understanding of heavy‑gauge steel properties, bend allowances, and fabrication tolerances.
- Advanced ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD specifications.
- Demonstrated experience maintaining tight tolerance and structural integrity standards.
- Proficiency with high‑precision measurement tools and quality inspection processes.
- Experience operating and supervising material handling using overhead cranes and forklifts.
- Strong mathematical aptitude and exceptional attention to detail
