The Press Brake Operator position is responsible for shaping and bending armor plate components. This role requires a high degree of precision and a deep understanding of how heavy‑gauge steel behaves under pressure to ensure structural integrity and fitment to the vehicle.
What You’ll Do- Set up and operate hydraulic press brakes to bend metal components
- Select proper tooling and dies based on metal thickness and bend requirements
- Verify part accuracy using calipers, protractors, and squares
- Interpret bend sequences and dimensions from complex engineering drawings
- Perform routine maintenance on press brake machinery
- Ensure all finished parts meet strict quality control standards
- Proven experience with Trumpf Press Brakes
- Experience working with high‑strength steel or armor plate
- Strong understanding of bend allowances and material spring‑back
- Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and blueprints
- High attention to detail and precision measurement skills
