The Welder / Fabricator Supervisor for Lenco’s 2nd shift is responsible for both performing welding tasks and managing the 2nd shift CNC and fabrication team. You will ensure that production targets are met, quality standards are maintained, and safety protocols are followed while actively participating in the assembly and fabrication of armored vehicle components.
What You’ll Do- Lead and manage the 2nd shift CNC and welding / fabrication team to ensure daily production goals are achieved
- Troubleshoot fabrication issues and provide technical guidance to resolve production bottlenecks
- Perform MIG welding on steel components and assemblies
- Fabricate parts according to engineering drawings, prints, and work orders
- Fit, tack, and assemble components prior to final welding
- Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions
- Grind, clean, and finish welds to meet quality and appearance standards
- Oversee and Inspect welds for accuracy, penetration, and structural integrity
- Manage shop-floor safety and ensure a clean, organized work environment in compliance with OSHA
- 5+ years of welding and fabrication experience in a heavy manufacturing environment
- Proven leadership or supervisory experience, preferably in a shop floor setting
- Expert-level MIG welding skills
- Advanced ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols
- Strong communication skills and the ability to manage a diverse team independently on the second shift
- High attention to detail with a focus on quality and safety-critical structural work
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and remain active on the shop floor throughout the shift
