Monday–Friday, 2:45 PM–11:30 PM (occasional extended hours may be required)
Employment Type:
Direct Hire Pay Range: $25.00–$34.00/hour + $1.00/hour shift differential for all hours worked on 2nd shift
We are seeking an experienced and motivated 2nd Shift Plastic Injection Molding Supervisor to lead our Production team. This role is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing operations while supporting employee development, process improvement, and overall operational excellence.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with manufacturing experience who can effectively manage production activities, coach team members, solve problems, and drive performance in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and supervise production employees to achieve daily production goals, quality standards, and safety objectives.
- Plan, assign, and monitor work activities to maximize productivity, efficiency, and resource utilization.
- Promote effective communication and collaboration across shifts and departments.
- Partner with Quality, Processing, Material Handling, Shipping, Maintenance, Engineering, and other teams to resolve production issues and improve workflow.
- Train, mentor, and develop employees to improve performance, engagement, and technical skills.
- Monitor production schedules, equipment downtime, scrap rates, and operational performance, implementing corrective actions when needed.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and communicate process improvements to management and engineering teams.
- Conduct employee performance evaluations and provide regular coaching and feedback.
- Review employee attendance, timekeeping, and payroll-related information for accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, work instructions, and quality requirements.
- Prepare and maintain accurate production reports, shift documentation, and operational records.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in plastics manufacturing.
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
- Experience with continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, or process optimization initiatives.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and build effective teams.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Commitment to workplace safety, quality, and operational excellence.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multiple departments.
