Radiology Interventional Nurse

Overview

Position has a on-call rotation for weekends and holidays.

Assigned to meet the needs of patients who require diagnostic and/or interventional procedures. Assists the physician in performing these highly specialized procedures, monitoring and providing nursing services directly and indirectly.

• Experience: Two years experience as a staff nurse. Two years critical care experience.
• Education and Training: Associates Degree in Nursing
• License, Certification & Registration: RN - Currently Licensed as an RN in MA. ACLS certification and defibrillation certification. Nurse must have IV therapy skills. Must be CPR certified.
• Other Requirements: Coronary and critical Care training and IV therapy skills required; in-depth knowledge of aseptic techniques, radiological procedures. Ability to act rapidly and decisively in critical angiocardiographic and other emergencies. Ability to function independently and proficiently. Understand principles of radiation protection. Must be able to move and lift patients, supplies and equipment on a regular basis. Professional with good communication skills and ability to deal successfully with patients, families, physicians, and multidisciplinary team members.
  
  Attendance at all mandatory education is required. Must be able to use following equipment:
• • Cardiac and other catheters.
  • Stress testing treadmill and computer.
  • MAC Lab Computer for cardiac cath interventional cases.
  • Temporary pacer.
  • EKG machine.
  • Blood glucose monitoring and Philips monitoring.
  • Must be able to operate HIS and RIS computer systems.
