Overview

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Vascular and Interventional Radiology (VIR) position in Pittsfield, MA, requiring at least 2 years of IR experience and active MA licensure.

• Active Massachusetts RN license required
• Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Defibrillation certification required
• Minimum 2 years of current Interventional Radiology/IR RN experience required
• Cardiac Cath and Electrophysiology experience required
• CCU experience required
• Strong IV skills required
• Ability to function independently and proficiently in a high-stress, work-intensive environment
• Valid personal vehicle required for this assignment
• 1 supervisory signed reference from within the past 2 years of employment required for consideration
• IR/Cath Lab skills checklist (current within 1 year) required for consideration
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible for this position

• Day shift position, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week
• 13-week contract
• Vascular and Interventional Radiology (VIR) unit within a hospital setting
• Procedures include angiograms of multiple systems, peripheral revascularization, hemodialysis catheter placement and maintenance, nephrostomy drainage tubes, gastrostomy and jejunostomy tube placement and maintenance, central line placement, vascular access including port placement, pain management intervention, paracentesis/thoracentesis, pre and post-care for renal/liver/lung biopsies, and carotid stenting
• Holiday coverage required if applicable
• No on-call requirements
• Meditech Expanse EMR experience is highly preferred
• VIR is a minimally invasive specialty in which physicians treat diseases non-operatively using small catheters guided by fluoroscopic and other imaging modalities
• Personal scrubs of any color are acceptable
• Attendance at all mandatory education sessions is required
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted upfront; RTO requests after submission will not be approved, and no more than 5 days of RTO will be considered
• Schedule accommodation requests for 10- or 12-hour shifts will not be considered for this assignment
• First-time travelers are not mentioned as eligible; 2 years of current IR experience is required
