PositionSummary
The RN triages patients by telephone or walk‑in to determine urgency and level of care needed, assists the Practice Manager in supervising clinical support staff, and provides patient care under the guidance of CHP physicians. Duties are performed within the RN license scope, contributing to a caring, collaborative, and innovative work environment that supports CHP’s mission, vision, and values while adhering to compliance protocols and CHP policies.
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive care for all patients.
- Give patient education, written and verbal, including during initial pregnancy visits, post‑operative and post‑partum.
- Schedule patient appointments and coordinate ancillary services and specialty referrals.
- Respond to patient emergencies within RN license scope.
- Screen, triage, and respond to patient inquiries via telephone, EMR messages, or walk‑in; approve same‑day visits when appropriate; assist referrals and PT‑1 forms; supervise medical assistants as needed.
- Assist physicians in procedures requiring nursing support; administer immunizations and allergy shots; manage requests for prescription medication; process laboratory results; chart all procedures performed.
- Assist with running daily equipment controls; chart for quality assurance (HCG, strep, sickle cell, urinalysis dipstick, etc.); ensure billing codes are correct; perform routine office duties as requested.
- Assist with rooming patients to maintain patient flow.
- Answer staff questions within scope of practice.
- Provide staff training as assigned by the Practice Manager.
- Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- A minimum of three years’ experience in an ambulatory setting (recent experience in a medical office/outpatient preferred).
- Experience with electronic medical records; experience with Athena preferred.
- Licensed as a RN in Massachusetts.

CompensationHourly wage: $32.00 – $37.00.
