Operating Room RN First Assist; RNFA

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Operating Room RN First Assist (RNFA) for a 13-week travel assignment in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. This role provides advanced perioperative nursing support and first‑assist services within a collaborative surgical environment. The RNFA will work closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical staff to ensure safe, efficient, and high‑quality patient care throughout the operative process.

• Monday–Friday.
• 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM.
• 40 hours guaranteed weekly.
• No weekends.
• Holiday coverage as needed.
• Rotating on‑call responsibilities.

• Serve as First Assistant during surgical procedures.
• Provide advanced perioperative nursing care.
• Support surgeons during operative cases.
• Float to additional operating room areas as needed.
• Maintain accurate documentation within Meditech Expanse.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary surgical teams.
• Participate in on‑call rotation requirements.

Required:

• Active Massachusetts RN License.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Active CNOR Certification.
• Current AHA BLS Certification.
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN First Assist experience.

Preferred:

• Meditech Expanse experience.
• Previous travel nursing experience.

• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility.
• Reliable personal transportation required.
• Ability to participate in on‑call coverage.
