Lactation Consultant

Days 8 hours, Monday through Friday

Job Description:

This position involves providing expert assessment, treatment, consultation, planning, and leadership oversight for optimal lactation management in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The Lactation Consultant will formulate interdisciplinary plans of care for patients with advanced lactation support needs and communicate effectively with the care team to achieve these goals.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct assessments and provide lactation consultations to patients.
• Develop and implement plans of care for breastfeeding support.
• Educate patients about prenatal and postpartum lactation practices.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure comprehensive care.
• Maintain documentation and records in compliance with facility protocols.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• 1+ years of experience as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (BCLC) - Equivalent certifications are not accepted.
• A minimum of 2500 hours as a breastfeeding consultant is required.
• Experience with inpatient lactation programs is required.
• Outpatient prenatal and postpartum lactation education and consultation experience is required.
• Meditech Expanse experience is strongly preferred.
• Active Massachusetts nursing license is required.
• Board Certification documentation must be provided at profile upload.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification is required.
