Processes Member purchases in a courteous and friendly manner, including verifying, renewing, upgrading, and offering several types of membership products, scanning merchandise, and accepting various forms of payments. Provides excellent member service in an efficient and productive manner. Maintains the overall cleanliness of the front-line department.

• Exhibits clear understanding of all BJ’s Membership options, including renewals and loyalty programs.
• Offers membership products such as renewal, EASY renewal, BJ’s Loyalty programs, and Rewards redemption.
• Provides high level of customer service to members; checks members out in a timely and efficient manner.
• Scans all club merchandise through a point‑of‑sale system to ensure accurate inventory counts and purchase totals.
• Fills shopping carts and assists at self‑checkout stations.
• Collects payments via cash, check, or other charge payments from members.
• Issues receipts or change to members.
• Stays up to date on promotions, advertisements, and product information; discounts purchases by scanning and redeeming coupons.
• Maintains cleanliness of the frontline area and assists in club housekeeping.
• Returns re‑sellable merchandise to the sales floor.
• Manages self‑checkout and scan‑and‑scan lanes; assists members with operations and technical difficulties.
• Meets cashier productivity expectations.
• Maintains all club policies and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned, including working in other departments as needed.
• Requires regular, predictable, full attendance.

• Delivers GOLD
  - Grand opening look daily; stocks all items, executes promotional plans, maintains visible accurate signage, and keeps area clean and organized inside and out.
• Understands how to access and read production and financial performance reports; sees the impact of consistent execution on the business.

• Basic math skills preferred.
• Prior cashier or sales experience preferred.

• Most of the time is spent moving frequently on hard surfaces; may need to bend, reach, stoop.
• Frequently requires lifting objects up to 30 pounds; heavy objects may need assistance.
• Located in a comfortable indoor area with infrequent exposure to temperature extremes and loud noises; occasional exposure to cleaning agents.

In accordance with the Pay Transparency requirements, the following represents a good faith estimate of the compensation range for this position. At BJ’s Wholesale Club, we carefully consider a wide range of non‑discriminatory factors when determining salary. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, education, experience, and qualifications. The pay range for this position is $16.25 - $19.50.
