The Campus Safety Officer provides safety services to the campus, ensuring the security of the MHS property and maintaining a safe educational environment for all community members and guests. With an emphasis on customer service and strengthening community relations to further the mission of the School, Campus Safety Officers are committed to serving a diverse school community and are tasked with identifying, assessing, and responding to potential hazards and safety-related incidents at the School.
Campus Safety Officers should expect to work a shift schedule that could include days, evenings and/or overnights, along with weekends and holidays. The Campus Safety Officer reports directly to the Director of Campus Safety. - Conduct patrols of school properties and inspect all access points, buildings, doors, and windows to secure the campus and prevent unauthorized entry.
- Receive, screen, and respond to incoming calls, and notify key personnel of major incidents or emergencies in a timely manner.
- Notify appropriate personnel promptly in the event of major incidents or emergencies and use the REACH system to distribute emergency notifications to the school community as needed.
- Assist in enforcing the safety rules, regulations, and policies of Miss Hall’s School.
- Greet, screen, and assist visitors and guests, emphasizing professional and courteous service.
- High school diploma or GED required; associate’s degree preferred.
- Ability to work in a technology-rich environment with strong computer skills, including preparing reports and using the web-based Emergency Notification System.
- Must possess or have the ability to obtain valid certifications in CPR, AED, and First Aid (American Heart Association preferred).
- A valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
- High ethical standards, strong boundaries, and sensitivity to the needs of an adolescent, all-girls population.
