Sr. Maintenance Mechanic (Weekend Shift) – {The TJX Companies, Inc.}

Join the TJ Maxx Distribution Center in Pittston. The position offers a competitive hourly rate and a supportive work environment.

Shift: Friday – Sunday, 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM

Rate: $30.00 per hour (+ $1.50 per hour shift differential)

• Operate cutting torches and various types of welding equipment.
• Demonstrate carpentry skills.
• Fabricate projects from wood or metal.
• Recommend and implement improvements to equipment, operations, procedures, and safety.
• Support the maintenance manager, supervisor, and clerk in spec‑out and ordering parts, and maintain inventory of spares.
• Work directly with vendors and contractors to ensure systems operate at desired performance.
• Keep all building and material handling systems operating.

• 3+ years of experience in an industrial or similar maintenance position.
• Experience in industrial maintenance with preventative maintenance in material handling.
• Proficiency in at least three of the following areas: electrical/electronics, welding/fabrication, plumbing, electro‑hydraulics, mechanical & electrical drive systems, PLC‑controlled systems.
• Familiarity with OSHA, NFPA, and NEC standards.
• Knowledge of MSDS sheets.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings (architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing).
• Physical ability to lift or move items up to 75 pounds.
• Good communications and writing skills.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to complete company forms and paperwork.
• Work safely at heights or in unusual positions.
• Maintain housekeeping and safe work practices.

Frequent exposure to lubricants, chemical vapors, aerosols, noise, dust, heat, and weather. Work at heights or in adverse conditions may be required.
