Job Description

- Work in a professional manner with other maintenance personnel and mold technicians as needed to keep all equipment in top working order, ensuring only quality product is released to the customer.
- Troubleshoot, remove, and replace different types of electronic, electromechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and optical systems.
- Pre‑inspect parts or equipment to be repaired to determine required supplies, tools, and shop equipment, and communicate with the Maintenance Manager.
- Read programmable controller information to diagnose complex problems.
- Diagnose and repair AC and DC motor controls.
- Replace belts, pulleys, cables, chains, bearings, gears, and related equipment.
- Communicate with other plant personnel to review deficiencies.
- Accurately log all work performed.
- Maintain work areas in a clean, orderly manner.
- Operate a forklift safely and efficiently.
- Perform PMs, cleans, and lubricates molding machines and equipment.
- Modify, repair, and rebuild plant machinery and equipment.
- Apply mechanical skills including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair.
- Visually inspect and solve problems in machines and equipment to locate causes of malfunctions.
- Measure parts to detect wear, misalignment, or improper operation.
- Document repairs and maintenance of manufacturing equipment.
- Perform other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
- Fabrication and installation of related trades; performing building maintenance; and general facility repairs.
- Install new equipment and/or relocate equipment.
- Understand the functionality of relays, motor contractors, motor starters, solid‑state relays, soft starts, and variable frequency drives.
- Familiarity with operation and troubleshooting of PLC programming.
- Ability to read, interpret, and troubleshoot using schematic diagrams.
- Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Experience in electrical distribution and machine controls ranging from 24 to 480 volts AC/DC.
- Safely perform plant lockout/tagout procedures, electrical safety, hazard communication program, personal protective equipment, and other safety programs and apply these procedures when working on equipment.
- Other duties and/or jobs as assigned.
Physical Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent and 2+ years industrial maintenance, manufacturing, technical school and/or Associates degree from an accredited technical institute or combination education and experience.
- Regularly required to stand for long periods; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms.
- Good hand‑eye coordination required.
- Frequently required to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move 100 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include distance, peripheral, and depth perception.
- Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
- Frequently works near moving mechanical parts.
- Good communication skills—verbal and written; must effectively communicate with employees, vendors, and customers.
- Independent in working effectively with little supervision; self‑starter, displaying ability to work and deliver results in a fast‑paced, performance‑driven environment.
- Good attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work as a cross‑functional team member.
- Extensive knowledge with electrical, hydraulic and injection molding machines.
- Strong PLC programming skills.
- Ability to train others and work as a cross‑functional team member.
