RN Wound/Treatment Nurse
DESCRIPTION:
- Performs nursing functions within scope of RN licensure
- Assess and evaluate patient wounds to determine the appropriate course of treatment
- Develop and implement individualized wound care plans
- Clean and dress wounds, ensuring sterile techniques are followed
- Monitor and document patient progress, updating treatment plans as necessary
- Educate patients and their families on wound care best practices and infection prevention
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians and other healthcare professionals, to optimize patient care
- Stay updated with the latest wound care research, techniques, and products
- Maintain and stock treatment carts neatly and adhere to infection control guidelines
- Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families
- Attend wound rounds twice weekly with wound team and make necessary adjustments to orders/care plans
- Adhere to all healthcare regulations and safety standards
RN Wound/Treatment Nurse REQUIREMENTS:
- Certified Wound Care Nurse (CWCN) or equivalent certification PREFERRED
- Experience in wound care nursing or a related field
- Advanced knowledge of wound care treatments and technologies
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Knowledge of current wound care research and protocols
- Experience in patient education and support
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of PA
- Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) or associate degree in nursing (ASN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Strong clinical assessment skills
- Ability to perform wound care procedures
- Proficiency in wound assessment and documentation
- Excellent communication skills
- Physical stamina to perform wound care tasks
- Attention to detail
- Commitment to continuous education and training in wound care
