The local shuttle driver will be responsible for executing local deliveries within a 50-mile radius with a 26ft box truck with the utmost care, professionalism, and accuracy.

Essential duties and responsibilities include operating 26' box truck safely and in compliance with all traffic laws and the Department of Transportation, accurately and efficiently loading and unloading cargo, often using a manual or powered pallet jack, backing truck to customer dock, maintaining compliance with Federal and State safety regulations and safe and professional driving behavior, communicating with customer representatives in a pleasant, respectful, and efficient manner, communicating and coordinating with dispatchers, complying with all DOT requirements including drug and alcohol testing, securing cargo and properly arranging and balancing it within the vehicle, ensuring that any mechanical issues with the vehicle are corrected before driving, and performing other duties as required.
Qualifications and work experience include a CDL A License Required, a minimum of 2 years CDL A driving experience within the last 4 years, 3+ years CDL A driving experience preferred, meeting D.O.T. qualification requirements, FMCSR 391.41, experience in load securement, route planning, and navigating various road conditions, exceptional customer service skills and the ability to handle sensitive cargo with care, detail-oriented mindset required, and must have a TWIC or eligible to obtain a TWIC card within 90 days, if required.
Physical demands include sitting for extended periods while operating a commercial vehicle, using hands and fingers to operate a steering wheel, controls, GPS devices, and other on-board equipment, reaching with hands and arms, climbing in and out of the cab and trailer, stooping, kneeling, bending, or crouching during inspections, coupling/uncoupling, or loading/unloading activities, communicating effectively using verbal and hearing skills, vision requirements including the ability to see at a distance for safe driving, as well as close vision for reading documents, using electronic logs, and performing inspections, physically able with or without accommodation to frequently carry, push, or pull freight weighing 1-125 pounds, lifts up to 50 pounds, reach for freight at waist level and occasionally above shoulder height or below waist level, shift manual transmission and operate foot pedals, not applicable on all trucks, squat or crouch to handle and position freight, climb in and out of the truck 4 to 6 feet, 8 to 10 times daily with assistance of various steps and handholds;
occasionally bending, twisting, climbing, squatting, crouching and balancing, conduct pre-trip inspection, fuel vehicles and check engine oil/coolant levels, perform preventative maintenance, and be able to spend at least 5% of day standing and 5% of the day walking on surfaces such as wood, metal and concrete.
Work environment includes exposure to diesel fumes, airborne particles, and occasionally harsh weather conditions while loading or unloading, time spent both inside the truck cab—which may involve extended periods of sitting and exposure to engine noise and vibration—and outside at customer sites, terminals, or on public roadways, noise levels can vary from quiet inside the cab to moderate or loud at delivery or pick-up locations.
