Manufacturing Quality Engineer – Aerospace

Location:

Brea, CA Salary: $75,000 - $85,000

Schedule:

Full-Time | Onsite Industry: Aerospace Manufacturing A well-established aerospace manufacturer in Brea, CA is seeking a Manufacturing Quality Engineer to support manufacturing quality, First Article Inspections, inspection planning, corrective actions, and customer quality issues.

Key Responsibilities
• Coordinate and review AS9102 First Article Inspections (FAI/FAIR), including determining FAI requirements and reviewing documentation.
• Review manufacturing routings, quality plans, and inspection plans for appropriate inspection and test requirements.
• Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, GD&T, and quality standards.
• Determine inspection methods and special gauging requirements for manufactured components.
• Support customer returns, including return validation, inspection, investigation, and corrective actions.
• Investigate product quality issues and support root cause analysis and corrective action.
• Work cross-functionally with Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, and other departments.
• Support contract and manufacturing quality requirements as needed. Qualifications
• 1–5 years of Quality Assurance/Quality Control experience within a manufacturing environment.
Hands-on experience with AS9102 First Article Inspections / FAIRs strongly preferred.
• Aerospace or precision manufacturing experience preferred.
• Knowledge of AS9100 or similar quality systems.
• Strong ability to read engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and GD&T.
• Experience with mechanical inspection and precision measurement equipment; CMM exposure is a plus.
• Knowledge of NCRs, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and quality problem-solving.
• Bachelor's degree in Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical discipline preferred; equivalent practical industry experience will be considered.
