Mountainside Success Academy (MSA) is an alternative program designed with a whole-child approach, which includes smaller class sizes, more 1:1 assistance, independent study and direct instruction opportunities, and multiple options for a flexible schedule. Students are scheduled in a flexible model and attend school 1 to 4 days per week, Monday through Thursday. MSA also offers Advanced Education classes at Folsom Lake College, opportunities for early graduation, credit recovery, and many other wraparound services.
It provides a supportive environment where building strong relationships with students and families is the foundation of our program. This is a 32-hour per week position: 7.25 hours Monday through Thursday and 3 hours on Friday. This position is located at Mountainside Success Academy on the El Dorado County Office of Education campus. The role involves working directly with administration, teachers, classified staff, students, families, and various county agencies that provide resources for students.
and Duties
Job duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Student supervision
- Assist Breakfast and Lunch service as needed
- Some student transportation via EDCOE vans
- Academic and Social Emotional classroom support
- Participate in student wellness activities under the supervision of administration and mental health clinician
- Project based staff collaboration for events and school community initiatives
- Work with administration and classified staff to support vulnerable youth, i.e. Foster, McKinney-Vento, trauma affected
- Documentation and record keeping
- Support families/students in accessing resources for unmet needs
Key qualities necessary for this position: - Authentic relationship building through active listening

- Creative problem solving
- Google Document experience preferable
- Student information systems experience preferable
- Knowledge of accessing community resources help
Education:
High School Diploma or the equivalent, and two years of college (48 units), or AA degree (or higher), or pass a local assessment of knowledge and skills in assisting in instruction. Experience required:
