Teacher - Child Development - State Preschool; William Brooks Elementary School

Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Director or designee, the State Preschool teacher is responsible for providing an engaging and secure learning environment in which children can expand their knowledge and skills through a variety of experiences and interactions which form a foundation for school readiness and later school success. All responsibilities and duties are to be carried out in accordance with the California Education Code, the State Administrative Code, and the policies of the El Dorado County Office of Education.

Continued operation of the State Preschool Program and employment of staff is dependent on the availability of State Funding.

Education /

Experience:

A combination of formal education, life experience and work experience are considered when evaluating qualifications. A minimum of High School Diploma and valid Child Development Site Supervisor Permit required. AA/BA degree in Child Development, Early Childhood or related field preferred. Must meet Title 22 licensing standards. Knowledge of child development, family interaction and community resources is desired. A minimum of three years recent experience in Early Care and Education Programs is required.

A preference will be given to bilingual teachers in South Lake Tahoe.
