Our Early Childhood Village is seeking a warm, experienced and collaborative colleague to join us as a Kindergarten Lead Teacher for the school year. Our ECV teachers honor and uphold the values and curriculum of Waldorf Education. We nurture and cultivate the Early Childhood “garden” through: providing a healthy and rhythmic day, modeling compassion and clarity worthy of imitation, and devoting ourselves to understanding the developmental needs of the children before us.
We foster strong collaboration with parents and offer guidance as needed through regular parent meetings, individual conferences and office hours.
We work closely with assistants, and colleagues to reinforce the wholesome development of the children in our care, and to build a robust, aligned, and caring community.

- Uphold a developmentally appropriate Waldorf early childhood curriculum that emphasizes imitation and play-based, sensory learning.
- Lead storytelling, circle time, artistic activities, practical work, and support outdoor and indoor creative play.
- Create a rich language environment that nurtures vocabulary development, social/emotional skills and expressive language.
- Cultivate the classroom's seasonal festival life in collaboration with the Early Childhood faculty.
- Observe and document children’s developmental progress to inform report writing and support readiness for first grade.
- Prepare and maintain a warm, orderly classroom environment, including snack preparation and care of materials.
- Communicate regularly with families through parent meetings, and individual conferences.
- Collaborate closely with the Early Childhood faculty, including monthly ECV meetings and coordination with classroom assistants.
- Share responsibility for maintaining curriculum resources, and the Early Childhood program environment.
- Participate in faculty meetings, in-service days, school events, and assigned duties such as playground supervision.
