• $140 - $235 per day, depending on District/County Program

Qualified individuals are being sought to serve as substitute teachers when regular certificated staff are absent. The Substitute Teacher – Sub Permit Assistance Needed posting is for individuals who do not hold or have never held a valid California Teacher Credential or Emergency 30-Day Substitute Permit. This posting is also for those holding out-of-state credentials.

The El Dorado County Office of Education will help you apply for your Emergency 30-Day Substitute Permit.

• Provides learning experiences and teaches the lessons of study prescribed by the classroom teacher or administrator.
• Develops and uses instructional materials suitable for verbal and/or visual instruction of students with wide range of mental, physical, and emotional maturity.
• Provides individual and group instruction designed to meet individual needs and motivate students.
• Establishes and maintains standards of student control required to achieve effective participation in all activities.
• Provides appropriate instruction and activities for students to meet school/ District policies goals and objectives.

  Skills:
  
  Individuals working in programs for students with severe handicaps must have the ability to lift students ranging in weight from infants to young adults and demonstrate a willingness to assist with self-help skills as necessary.
