Sr. Fiscal Assistant

The opportunity:
Sr. Fiscal Assistants serve in select County departments, providing essential support for fiscal and administrative operations. They perform a variety of routine to complex fiscal, financial, statistical, and accounting support duties in the preparation, processing, and maintenance of fiscal and accounting records and transactions; produce, balance, and maintain both manual and computerized accounting and financial records; receive, document, and deposit payments made and perform general office support duties.
The selected candidate will have the opportunity to:
- Provide lead direction, training, work review and evaluation to a small fiscal and/or general office support staff; organize and assign work, set priorities and follows up to ensure coordination and completion of assigned work.
- Provide input into selection decisions, disciplinary matters and other personnel decisions.
- Perform difficult or complex accounting or financial office support work and assist with special projects as assigned.
- Review and reconcile varied reports, journals, budget, payroll or related fiscal or statistical data.
- Review and audit changes to County tax rolls; update and balance County tax rolls; calculate payments due on bonds and special assessments.
- Audit and verify various information, including source data as well as manual and computer-produced reports.
Human Resources will assess your application to determine if you are minimally qualified using the following recommendations: A combination of the required experience, education, and training that would provide the essential knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying; however, education may not solely substitute for the required experience. Where college degrees and/or college course credits are required, degrees and college units must be obtained from an accredited college or university.
Courses from non-accredited institutions will not be evaluated for this requirement.
Experience:
One year of fiscal support experience at a level equivalent to the County's class of Fiscal Assistant II.
Based on the department's needs, the selection procedures listed above may be modified. All candidates will be notified of any changes in the selection procedures.
The County of El Dorado is recruiting applicants for Sr. Fiscal Assistant. This recruitment will establish a list for the purpose of filling current and future full time, part time, limited term and extra help vacancies for at least three (3) months.
