Deputy Attorney - Public Defender South Lake Tahoe

Position Summary

We’re hiring two full‑time Deputy Attorneys in the El Dorado County Public Defender’s Office, located in South Lake Tahoe, CA.

• Defend clients in misdemeanor, felony, juvenile, and conservatorship cases.
• Provide real courtroom experience and collaborate with a dedicated, supportive team.

• Up to $6,000 paid in equal installments for the first 26 consecutive biweekly pay periods.
• Additional vacation leave accrued in equal installments over the same period.
• Up to $6,000 relocation expense reimbursement for moving expenses, including pets, when your primary residence is more than 100 miles from the assigned work location.
• Recruitment incentive and relocation expense reimbursement eligibility are subject to the County of El Dorado Personnel Rules. Current County of El Dorado employees are not eligible.
• Employees residing in the Tahoe basin may qualify for a Tahoe differential of up to $101.53, paid over twenty‑four benefit pay periods, and a geographical differential of up to $200.00, paid over twenty‑four pay periods per year.
