LEAD MAINTENANCE MECHANIC –GRISWOLD PRODUCTS, MOOSUP, CT Join a fast-paced rubber manufacturing team!
Earn $35.00 per hour starting

- Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems on rubber processing equipment such as extruders, mixers, and molding machines.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks according to schedule to minimize unplanned downtime.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to support continuous production.
- Read and interpret mechanical diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and technical documents.
- Document all maintenance activities in logs or digital maintenance systems.
- Assist in the installation and startup of new equipment or modifications to existing systems.
- Collaborate with production, safety, and quality teams to ensure operational efficiency.
- Comply with safety regulations including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), machine guarding, and proper use of tools and PPE.
- Maintain an organized and safe work environment.
- High school diploma or GED required; technical/vocational training preferred.
- 4+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment; rubber or plastics industry experience is a plus.
- Solid knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic electrical troubleshooting.
- Proficient with hand and power tools; welding or fabrication experience is beneficial.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
- Comfortable with physical work, including lifting to 50 lbs. and working in industrial conditions (heat, noise, standing for long periods).
Preferred
Skills:
- Forklift or man-lift certification.
- Strong communication and organizational skills
