You will serve as the designated safety champion for your building, building relationships, influencing positive change, and writing the next chapter in Amazon’s commitment to safety.
Responsibilities- Drive comprehensive safety programs through data‑driven strategies, leading daily safety audits, incident investigations, and risk assessments.
- Implement innovative solutions to prevent injuries and deliver engaging safety training that fosters a proactive safety culture.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives that enhance workplace safety while maintaining operational efficiency.
- Act as a trusted safety advisor and advocate for associate wellbeing, building strong partnerships across all levels of the organization.
- Foster a culture where safety is everyone’s priority through effective communication, coaching, and positive reinforcement.
- Develop strong relationships with frontline associates and leadership to drive behavioral changes and embed safety best practices into everyday habits.
- Transform safety data into compelling narratives that influence positive change and increase engagement in safety initiatives.
- Lift up to 49 pounds and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach.
- Stand and walk for up to 12 hours during shifts.
- Work in environments where noise level varies and where temperatures and weather may be variable (e.g., outside loading departments).
- Continuously climb and descend stairs (applicable to sites with stairs).
- Maintain effective care delivery in emergencies and assist emergency response at the site.
- Must be available to work flexible shifts including days, nights, and/or weekends.
- For candidates who do not hold an adult First Aid, CPR, or AED certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, certification must be obtained within 3 weeks of start date.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year in an environmental health & safety (EHS) related field; or a bachelor’s degree in an EHS‑relevant background; or six months of experience performing in a safety‑related role within Amazon.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations, specifically 29 CFR 1910.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel in a professional capacity.
- Experience maintaining confidentiality in matters involving security and/or personal issues in the workplace.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in a safety‑related field.
- Strong communication, teamwork, analysis, judgment, and customer focus skills.
- Experience leading and managing a team and the ability to analyze accident data, new processes, and machinery for potential safety concerns; conduct job hazard and job safety analyses.
- Experience in emergency response and currently holds First Aid and CPR certificates.
- Experience in workers’ compensation case management.
The base salary range for this position is 27.00 – 33.00 USD hourly. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
