Top rated Chicago area commercial general contractor is looking for a Project Manager experienced in commercial, institutional, and industrial construction to join our team.
Who We Are Plainfield Illinois based Harbour Contractors has been a leading general contractor in the Chicago area for over 60 years. We are a fast-paced energetic company looking for Project Superintendents experienced in commercial/institutional general building construction to join our growing team. Project Superintendents are key members of our team representing our company to our clients and responsible for the overall leadership of our projects from the preconstruction phase through final completion.
Projects include public and private projects ranging in size from $1 Million to $50 Million including:
- Design Build
- Construction Management at Risk
- Lump Sum
- Conduct site inspections and assist in Pre-Construction activities
- Participate in the selection and bidding process for construction subcontractors
- Coordinate between subcontractors and suppliers to ensure work is completed on-budget and on-schedule
- Ensure subcontractor compliance to Harbour’s quality and safety standards
- Review and track subcontractor submittals
- Maintain and track Project Scheduling in Primavera P6
- Communicate with Harbour Project Manager on status of construction activities, schedule/budget risks
- Review and manage all Requests for Information
- Review contracts and subcontractor scope of work to ensure compliance
- Assist with acquisition of any permits required for construction
- Oversee project closeout with subcontractors and clients to complete Punch Lists
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as project superintendent on commercial projects greater than $2 million
- Must be an effective leader with strong organizational skills, oral and written communication skills, and technical construction knowledge/experience
- Be able to handle multiple projects
- Ability to read and understand engineering design documents
- Ability to communicate effectively with client, sub-contractors, and internal project team
- Strong computer skills including proficiency in
- P6 scheduling software
- On-screen takeoff software
- Microsoft Office
- Procore Project Management software (a plus)
